 Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian Church

The Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian Church is one of the oldest church organizations in the area.  It has two locations in Hampton.  Summer services are at the Musconetcong Valley Church located on Valley Road.  This church was built in 1837 on land donated by the Skinner family.  The remainder of the year, services are held at the Chapel at 140 Main Street, which was built specifically for worship services during the winter months back in 1885.  This ritual continues to this day.

Services are 9:30am on Sundays.  There is a nursery located at the Chapel House for children during services.  Sunday School is from 8:50am to 9:30am prior to worship and takes place at the Chapel House next door.  Currently, there is a pre-school through middle school program.  Our church would like to extend an invitation to all children who are interested in participating.  Please call the Educational Coordinator, Kim Celentano, at (908)537-4815 for more information.

Reverend Irv Angstadt presides over the congregation.  He can be reached at his home number of (484) 373-0567.  The church has no regular office hours, however, messages can be left at (908) 537-2225.

The Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian Church congregation welcomes everyone from the Hampton Community and beyond to attend services.

 St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church

In northern Hunterdon County, the Catholic church was comprised mainly of Irish immigrants who had followed the employment opportunities the railroad offered in this area.  In 1859, Saint Ann's was officially established by Bishop Bayley during the reign of Pope Pius IX, and Father Claude Rolland was named the first resident priest.  Father Rolland was assigned the pastoral care for mission churches in Clinton, Flemington, High Bridge West Portal, Washington, and Oxford.  In 1864, Father Rolland returned to his home in France, and Father Patrick Leonard was assigned to oversee these churches.  At the time, Hampton was fast becoming a prosperous town and the size of Saint Ann's parish was increasing.  Father Leonard recognized the the small church built by Father Rolland was now inadequate, and he selected the new and current site of Saint Ann's.  A much larger brick church with a two-story rectory was constructed, with many of the parishioners assisting with the actual work.  The cornerstone of the church was laid on July 4, 1866, and the current church and rectory were completed the following year.

Saint Ann's Parish is enjoying a new spring-time of growth and as the parish plans to mark the One Hundred Fiftieth anniversary of its founding, parish registration has climbed to over one thousand families.  From this tiny spot in rural Hampton, Saint Ann's has given birth to eight churches in Hunterdon and Warren County.  Due to her contribution to , and the significant role she has played in the history of the Church in Northern Hunterdon County, in 2003, the parish was designated by the State of New Jersey as a "Site of Historical Note".
